Daniel Klein is co-founder and CEO of leading mobile payment company SumUp. Daniel drives the company’s vision, strategy and growth. He has established SumUp as one of the leading payment companies worldwide, with a presence in 16 countries including Germany, Brazil and the U.S. Alongside his co-founder, he has secured a funding of more than €50 million, to date, from partners such as American Express, Groupon, b-to-v and BBVA.

With over ten year's experience in the payments industry Daniel is an expert in his field. Prior to co-founding SumUp, Daniel successfully founded and ran several companies, including the e-money and payment service provider Skrill (Moneybookers), a software, speciality insurance and mortgage company as well as a technology venture fund.

Daniel started his career at the NATO Programming Centre in Belgium, before becoming an IT consultant in Munich and Frankfurt. He studied at the WHU Otto Beisheim School of Management in Vallendar.
