Martin began his career in private equity investing EUR 100m+ in Europe's leading software and engineering companies. Still in his mid twenties, he faded out the private equity career path to start his own ventures. As a COO he led the fintech ShopCo, a browser extension to checkout on any website with just one click. The business expanded from Germany to the US to disrupt how individuals buy products online. ShopCo was acquired by Klarna.

In 2017 Martin returned to his hometown Berlin and joined Finleap as CPO in Berlin. Quite quickly he figured out blockchain will disrupt financial markets. End of 2017 Upvest was born.
