Liliana Fratini Passi, CEO of CBI
Over the past twenty years Liliana Fratini Passi has amassed vast experience in the financial sector, acquiring knowledge about the innovative aspects of new business models in the area of transaction banking, open banking, management and standardisation of e-payment services, financial-value chain, blockchain, big-data analytics. She has authored a series of articles offering insights into these topics which have been published on financial journals and dailies both on an Italian national and international level. Liliana Fratini Passi is an expert also on matters regarding the gender gap in the financial sector.

She has been in charge of developing multiple innovation projects for the Italian financial industry including the development of the architecture of the CBI Service and the Access Point services for the Public Administration, launching the CBILL Service, which also enables pagoPA payments, the Mutuitel service, the CBI BIG DATA service, and the open banking platform CBI Globe, to interconnect Third Parties and account-servicing payment-service providers (otherwise known as ASPSPs) in order to comply with PSD2 requirements and develop value added services in the data sharing economy.

She also holds various national and international appointments: she is the Chairwoman of the Working Group entitled “Financial Services” of the National Strategic Table on International Trade Facilitation and was appointed with a Decree issued by the Italian Ministry of Economic Development on 11 December 2017; she is a UN delegate at UNECE-UN/CEFACT acting as Domain Coordinator Finance in the PDA (Program Development Area) Supply Chain and for the same body UN/CEFACT, “Liaison UN/CEFACT at ISO TC68 Financial Services”; she is a member of the Board of ISO20022 RMG (Registration Management Group). In 2008, she was also a member of the European Commission and belonged to the Expert Group on E-Invoicing, helping to draw up the first final report on e-Invoicing.

She also belongs to the Scientific Committee EURISPES, a member of the Board of the Civita Association, member of Advisory Board of Minerva Bancaria. Starting from april 2019, she is Board Member of UNINFO.

On June 2019, the Margutta Prize was awarded to Liliana Fratini Passi for the "Entrepreneurship" category. In 2013 she was honoured with the “La colomba della Cività” [The Dove of Civilization] prize.
